Top 7 Places for Wine Lovers at Walt Disney World

Everything Else!, Food & Dining

September 14, 2023

You already know where to get a margarita at Disney.

You know which underrated restaurants are the easiest to get last-minute reservations for.

And where you’ll be dining at Magic Kingdom.

You even know the best things to eat and drink around the World Showcase at EPCOT.

But do you know where to go for a good glass of wine?

Disney is good at many things, but we especially appreciate having so many incredible options to enjoy – or splurge on! – a high-quality pour of vino.

7. Belle Vue Lounge (BoardWalk Inn)

We admit this one might be a little obscure, but we’ve gotta show our love for the BoardWalk.

This overlooked spot located inside the BoardWalk Inn (near the lobby) is an old-school lounge that is an absolute classic and one we love to visit.

Have your drinks inside and pretend you’re in a Nancy Meyers movie, or take them out on the patio and look out over the BoardWalk Green.

Bonus Tip: The BoardWalk is one of our all-time favorite resorts not just for the vibes alone, but because of how many fun and unique family-friendly activities are available!

6. Dahlia Lounge (Coronado Springs)

This rooftop lounge at the Gran Destino Tower of the Coronado Springs resort is one of our favorite post-park spots for a nightcap. Also a perfect choice for a date night!

It’s a little out of the way, but we find that taking a bus to Coronado Springs from the parks and then a ride-share back to our resort is worth the extra time and expense – especially because Coronado Springs is centrally(ish!) located.

They have a decent wine selection with some very high-end Spanish wines you can sample by the ounce.

5. Trattoria al Forno (Disney’s BoardWalk)

WUAP readers know this is one of those criminally underrated spots we love to share (no gatekeeping here!).

Already one of our favorite places on property, Trattoria al Forno also boasts a huge Italian wine list to pair with your made-in-house pasta. There is something for everyone – and we mean everyone! This restaurant is very family-friendly.

Try the Nebbiolo, one of our favorite Italian varietals.

4. Nomad Lounge (Animal Kingdom)

Situated on the river before the bridge to Pandora and adjoining Tiffins, the park’s signature dining restaurant, the Nomad Lounge is a must-do on nearly every one of our trips to Disney.

With a beautiful covered porch in addition to indoor seating, and a menu featuring a handful of delicious small-plate options, this kid-friendly Animal Kingdom staple has become one of our favorite watering holes in all of the parks – and our definite favorite for sipping rosé and watching the character flotillas drift past!

Pro Tip: The biggest thing to remember is there are no reservations! You’ll need to join the waitlist via the MDE app (you’ll see the estimated wait time). Waits tend to go down closer to park close.

3. EPCOT World Showcase “Wine Walk”

Probably because of the overwhelming number of snacks and drinks available at EPCOT, a lot of Disney pros don’t even know about this one!

There are three different spots around the World Showcase where you can sample a variety of wines:

  • Weinkeller (Germany)
  • Enoteca Castello (Italy)
  • Les Vins des Chefs de France (France)

Hit all three for a unique wine-tasting experience, or pick your favorite region and dive in!

We love all the spots, but getting some authentic champagne (at shockingly decent prices) in France is a long-time favorite pastime.

Editor’s Note: Does anyone remember Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar? It was an entire wine bar IN the Italy Pavilion of EPCOT, but it has not resumed fully normal operations since COVID (is this still an excuse?!). We’re still hoping it comes back because it would for sure be on this list. But we’re not counting on it. 🙁

2. California Grill (Contemporary)

Set on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this spot is well known for excellent food and the best fireworks dining available outside of the parks.

But it also has the second-highest amount of sommeliers on property – with an impressive wine list to back it up!

We consider California Grill a must-do but know it can be a bit crowded and noisy at dinnertimes nearer to the fireworks display at Magic Kingdom.

Pro Tip: Due to its popularity, you’ll want a reservation. But, if you’re a small party, you can still sometimes find a few walk-up seats available at the bar!

1. Wine Bar George (Disney Springs)

Obviously, given the name of the restaurant, this is THE spot for winos (ourselves included)!

George is a Master Sommelier, and his well-loved spot in Disney Springs, staffed with a number of variously certified servers, has been awarded several prestigious designations, including the Best Micro Wine List in the World (2019).

We love the flexibility of ordering from a selection of over 150 wines any way we please – by bottle, ounce, glass, or even in flight form!

The service and food are always excellent as well. WBG is one of those restaurants where we just want to stay for our entire trip and never leave.

Pro Tip: If you don’t quite have time for the full sit-down experience, WBG also has a walk-up window called The Basket. We’ve been known to order nibbles to-go and a Frozcato (a frozen “adult” Dole Whip!) and enjoy a picnic.

Honorable Mention: Jaleo (Disney Springs)

The space at Jaleo is easily one of our favorites at Disney Springs. With beautiful high ceilings, vibrant colors, and cool lighting, the ambiance is phenomenal.

Plus, they’ve got a great Spanish wine menu that includes tons of by-the-glass options as well as flights.

It’s on our honorable mention list mainly because, in our experience, the food was just…alright. Although, we’re due for a re-visit!

Alright, food is important. But what’s more important? Staying out of long lines at Disney. The Complete Parks Strategy Playbook is bursting with our best park recommendations, tried and true vacation itineraries, plus everything else you need to put the fun back into Disney planning!
