Despite being home to headliners like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the real star of EPCOT isn’t the rides.
It’s the food.
Sure, the atmosphere is fantastic and the rides are a blast, but the snack (and beverage!) scene is unbeatable. From year-round classics to popular festival bites to keep things exciting, there is something for absolutely everyone to enjoy around the park.
And with so many amazing options to choose from, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially if you have limited time. But that’s where we come in.
We’ve rounded up the best bites to help you make the best choices (and avoid any potential food FOMO).
Before we dive in, here are a couple of quick FYIs:
- Festivals are happening almost all year long (except about 6-8 weeks of the year), and that’s where you’re going to find some of the best and most creative food options. There are hundreds of items to try, so be sure to check out the official guides before your trip if you want to plan your picks.
- If you’re newer to EPCOT – or it’s been a while – don’t skip the classics. The standing staples in this list are almost always worth your time and appetite. Honestly? We’d probably recommend a visit to Les Halles or crepes in France before a festival booth.
- Quick note: We are not including anything from sit-down restaurants in the list below. We love a good sit-down meal at EPCOT from time to time (and you really can’t go wrong with which restaurant you pick), but our usual M.O. is to snack our way ‘round the park.
Ready? Let’s get into it!
1. The Cronut
Our personal favorite that we won’t leave EPCOT without getting. This cinnamon-sugar-dusted croissant-donut hybrid came out years ago, before the Cronut was cool everywhere else. Then it took a hiatus during the whole pandemic before returning to EPCOT. And let us tell you, it better be here to stay, because it’s one of our favorite food items across all the parks combined.
Find it at the EPCOT Starbucks, aka Connections Cafe. We do recommend it with a coffee for a nice break in the morning after you get a ride or two in; otherwise, grab it later in the day when the lines are shorter (all of the park’s Starbucks stay pretty busy before 11 am!).
Don’t skip this one—and the kids will love it too.
2. Caramel Popcorn (and everything else) from Karamell-Küche
Another one we don’t leave EPCOT without: the caramel popcorn from Karamell-Küche. It’s our favorite to-go item, perfect for munching as we stroll or taking back to the hotel room for a late-night snack. PSA: it never lasts as long as you want it to.
As for Karamell-Küche, you can practically smell this place before you see it, so we recommend that window-shoppers stop in, even if it’s just for that buttery, sugary aroma. Good luck just window shopping, though. Everything at this shop is a hit.
And don’t forget—you can Mobile Order ahead of time to beat the line (although part of the fun IS waiting in line, looking and smelling all of the deliciousness—for that reason, you won’t find us mobile ordering here unless we’re coming back for seconds ;)).
3. Kakigori at Kabuki Cafe
A light, refreshing pick-me-up perfect for those Florida scorchers, the Kakigori is the name for shaved ice in Japan. Light, fluffy, and flavorful, it is traditionally topped with sweetened condensed milk for an extra delicious twist (optional, of course, but we recommend it!).
You’ll find it at a small stand in the Japan Pavilion, to the left of the big tower/pagoda that you can’t miss. It’s a simple and fun treat for the kids near the halfway point of the World Showcase!
4. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie
This authentic French cafe and bakery tucked back in the EPCOT pavilion is sadly no longer a secret, thanks to social media. But even with the longer lines (especially at lunchtime), it’s still 100% worth the stop.
From classic croissants to bite-sized macarons and crème brȗlée, everything tastes like it came straight from Paris. You’ll also find savory sandwiches and quiches that you can easily make a meal out of. Pair anything with a glass of champs or Frosé, and you’ve got yourself a picnic.
5. Pretzel Bread Pudding from Sommerfest
This one takes “hidden gem” to the next level. You could almost walk right past it, but don’t. Tucked all the way back in the Germany Pavilion, you’ll find this tasty treat at Sommerfest, the quick-service spot.
Served warm and drizzled with vanilla and caramel sauces, the Pretzel Bread Pudding is the perfect blend of sweet and salty. It’s on the heavier side and easily splittable (if you dare), but the most impressive thing about this dessert is the shockingly affordable price. Easily the best deal you’ll get at Disney!
Bonus: While you’re recovering from dessert in Germany, don’t miss the famous Schöfferhofer, more colloquially known as the Grapefruit Bier. It’s technically a shandy: half wheat beer, half grapefruit soda.
While it is on the sweeter side, it is absolutely delicious and generally a crowd pleaser. Plus, it’s lower in alcohol, so it’s kind of a nice break, to be honest.
6. Crepes and Galettes from Crêpes À Emporter
Crêpes à Emporter in the France Pavilion might be quick-service, but it’s a do-not-miss spot for an authentic experience and one of the more affordable meal options at EPCOT. These crepes are made fresh right at the window, so you might wait a few extra minutes, but it’s absolutely worth it.
We love starting with the savory Bechamel galette (ham and cheese in a rich Bechamel sauce) and finishing things off with the Hazelnut & Chocolate crepe. Grab a table somewhere and enjoy the view – whether it’s the Skyliner gliding by or some good old-fashioned people-watching.
7. Fish & Chips in the UK
You’ll find the authentic fish & chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop stand or on the menu at the lovely Rose & Crown (the UK Pavilion’s sit-down restaurant). These truly are the real deal—we’ve even had readers from across the pond tell us that these are some of their favorite fish & chips, even compared to home!
Do it like a Disney pro and grab a pub blend at Rose & Crown first, then get those fish & chips.
8. Poutine from The Refreshment Port (near Canada)
This dish comes with a stamp of approval from a Canadian spouse and other family members who are poutine worshippers. Enjoy a traditional poutine or try the specialty poutine offered during the current festival. The traditional almost always wins for us.
Bonus points for being so heavy that it’s comfortably splittable, or acts as a solid meal for one. An excellent stop for filling up your stomach, especially if you’re imbibing around the World Showcase!
9. Nachos from La Cantina de San Angel
If you want something hearty to go along with your margarita, head straight to La Cantina de San Angel for the nachos. They’re piled high with tortilla chips, white cheese, ground beef, black beans, jalapeno – the works! Fine to split, but even better to fly solo on this one.
Between lunchtime crowds and aggressive birds, seating can get pretty wild outside, so we recommend sitting inside the restaurant area (it’s open!).
10. L’Artisan des Glaces
This spot is not just charming, but it also offers a huge variety of flavors in both ice cream and sorbet form. But the most famous option is the Macaron, an ice cream sandwich with two macarons and a generous scoop of ice cream. If macarons don’t do it for you, try the Croque Glacé, a scoop of any ice cream pressed into warm brioche. Both are tasty and fun!
Lines can get long, but they try to move quickly. Either way, it’s worth it!
11. School Bread in Norway
Alright, while this list isn’t technically ranked, we put this last for a reason. We don’t love the School Bread, but it’s POPULAR among many readers and Disney regulars! Simply put, this is a “sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut.” We find the bread itself to be a bit boring, and we’re not huge fans of the coconut flakes on top. But, again, people love it. If you’re into coconut and custard…go for it!
Last Bites and Tips
We love a hybrid approach to eating at EPCOT: sample a few festival booths while hitting the classic year-round staples. That way, you’re getting the best of both worlds.
If you have a second day or want to sit down and soak in some atmosphere in one of the restaurants of EPCOT, some of our go-to spots in the World Showcase are Rose & Crown, Via Napoli, and San Angel Inn. Each one has a unique vibe, great food, and a perfect chance to slow down and take it all in.
With a little planning, your next EPCOT trip can be as delicious as it is fun and magical.
