While Disney California Adventure might be known for its thrills and entertainment, it’s also a hidden gem for foodies and snack lovers alike. While we all love a Mickey-shaped treat, there is a whole smorgasbord of options here that are worth your attention.
And while we’re all about the snacks, it’s worth noting that DCA also offers some great sit-down options. Compared to Disneyland’s sit-down restaurants, we’ve found spots like Carthay Circle and Lamplight Lounge at DCA to provide an all-around better experience. Not to mention all the places with solid seating where you can kick back and chill (lookin’ at you, Flo’s V8 Cafe).
Whether you’re hunting for the next snack to fuel you up or you want something to savor and enjoy, our list has you covered.

10. Pym’s Kitchen Test Foods
Pym’s might not be the *best*, most out-of-this-world quality for food in the park, but it’s worth a stop just for the fun, wacky creations on the menu, like the Quantum Pretzel or the Not so Little Chicken Sandwich.
9. Clarabelle’s Ice Cream Sundaes & Cones
If you’re craving something sweet – especially on a hot day – Clarabelle’s is a must for satisfying that classic ice cream itch. Everything from the sundaes to the hand-dipped bars is super customizable and indulgent. It’s the perfect “treat yourself” treat! We love their seasonal items, like the peppermint creations we made around Christmastime.
8. Aunt Cass Cafe
Aunt Cass Cafe, located on Pixar Pier, is home to one of our favorite savory food items – the famous Disney sourdough bread bowl. Try the Mac & Cheese (our pick) or Walt’s Chili for solid options. Or, if you’re in the mood for something a little different or less hearty, the Chilled Soba Noodles are another delicious pick.
7. Schmoozies!
Home to a wide array of smoothies and shakes, Schmoozies is a spot you visit when you want dessert with a little bit of a twist. From fun seasonal creations to staples like the Mangonada (which even comes in an adult version!), there’s always something new and delicious to try. The Confetti was a favorite.
6. Cheddar Cheese Stick (Corn Dog Castle)
While we usually don’t spend a whole lot of time on “basic” theme park foods when we’re at DCA, we couldn’t sleep at night if we didn’t tell you about Corn Dog Castle. Yes, you’ll find the standard corn dogs here, but the true star of the show is the Cheddar Cheese Stick (which tastes essentially like a fried grilled cheese sandwich – yum!). Maybe try it after you ride the Incredicoaster?
5. Cozy Cone Motel
Fun and adorable ambiance aside, Cozy Cones is where you go when you’re in the mood for a classic comfort snack with a playful twist. Grab a seasonal snack, sweet and crispy churros, buttery popcorn, or – our favorite – a Mac & Cheese bread cone filled with a variety of savory, cheesy fixin’s!
4. Churros (throughout the park)
Arguably Disneyland and DCA’s most famous snack, the iconic churro can be found just about anywhere in the park. While the classic cinnamon sugar is a staple, there are tons of fun flavors to try that rotate seasonally. One of our favorite things to do? Scoping out the seasonal churro lineup and mapping a route through the park for a full-on churro crawl.

3. Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num
Attention classic chocolate chip cookie lovers! You’ve probably heard the claim “this is the best cookie ever” before, but no, this one really is. Served warm and gooey, it’s like eating the best part of the chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven. It’s simple, but honestly kind of perfect, especially after a spin on the Incredicoaster!
2. Lemon Soft-Serve (Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats)
When you want something sweet but not as heavy as ice cream, the treats at Adorable Snowman are a perfect alternative. Light, flavorful, and refreshing, we love the traditional lemon soft serve, but the mango option is another personal favorite. If you can’t decide, you can always combine and get it as a swirl! And don’t forget the milk topping. Trust us on that one.
1. Lobster Nachos (Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk)
The Lobster Nachos at Lamplight are a fan favorite for a reason, but for us, it’s also the atmosphere that seals the deal. Who can argue with waterfront views of Pixar Pier or a completely relaxed, laid-back vibe? The nachos are rich, indulgent, and totally shareable, and the cocktails are fun, but it’s the setting that makes this our #1 pick at DCA.
Note: We’re talking about the Boardwalk dining option of Lamplight Lounge, not the main restaurant. The menus are different between the two, so if you want the nachos, the Boardwalk is where you want to be. It’s walk-up only, so you’ll have to set yourself a reminder to put yourself on the waitlist about an hour before you want to eat!
Bonus…
Did you notice that Margherita Pizza is the main photo (that we didn’t mention yet…)? Technically, it’s outside of California Adventure—but just steps outside at Naples Ristorante at Downtown Disney. If you need a break from the park or just want a nicer sit-down, eating that pizza on the patio, with a craft cocktail, is one of our favorite things to do at DL.
Our Snack Strategy
With so many options (and limited stomach space), it helps to have a loose food strategy before you hit the park. Don’t take the fun out of it and plan every bite, but having a general game plan can save you from food regret.
Our go-to is usually to plan for a sit-down at Lamplight Lounge (Boardwalk) for lunch or dinner. If we want a break from the park or indulge a little, we’ll head to the Craftsman Grill at the Grand Californian Hotel instead (bonus points for the convenient park entrance to GCH). From there, we just snack through the rest of the day!
However you decide to do it, you really can’t go wrong when you’re snacking around the park. Enjoy!
